Web search
Enable live web results for a bot. Configure allowed domains, respect plan gating, and understand how the toggle affects responses.
- Web search is gated to Advanced and Enterprise plans.
- On Starter/Pro, the toggle is disabled and shows an upgrade prompt.
- Open a bot workspace → Tools tab.
- Toggle Allow web search.
- Add Allowed domains (domain-only, e.g.
example.com). Leave blank to allow any domain (not recommended). - Save changes.
- When enabled, the bot can call web search during answers. Allowed domains restrict which sites the bot queries.
- If disabled or gated, the bot skips web search and relies on other tools/data.
- Domains must be entered without protocols or paths (example.com only); inputs like https:// or /path are rejected.
- Show-source toggle (Display tab) controls whether web citations are shown in chat.
- Add specific domains to avoid noisy results (e.g., site.com).
- If the toggle is disabled, upgrade your plan, then reopen Tools to enable it.
- If citations are missing, enable Show source → Web in Display.
