Web search

Enable live web results for a bot. Configure allowed sites, respect plan gating, and understand how the toggle affects responses.

Availability

- Web search is gated to Advanced and Enterprise plans.

- On Starter/Pro, the toggle is disabled and shows an upgrade prompt.

How to enable

Open a bot workspace → Tools tab.
Toggle Allow web search.
Add Allowed websites (whitelist). Leave blank to allow any domain (not recommended).
Save changes.

Behavior

- When enabled, the bot can call web search during answers. Allowed sites restrict domains.

- If disabled or gated, the bot skips web search and relies on other tools/data.

- Show-source toggle (Display tab) controls whether web citations are shown in chat.

Tips & troubleshooting

- Add specific domains to avoid noisy results (e.g., site.com).

- If the toggle is disabled, upgrade your plan, then reopen Tools to enable it.

- If citations are missing, enable Show source → Web in Display.
